ドジャースの大谷翔平選手がニューヨーク市内のホテルで開かれた、全米野球記者協会ニューヨーク支部主催の晩さん会に出席されました。
2年ぶり2度目のMVP受賞ということで恒例のスピーチを行った大谷翔平選手ですが、そのスピーチがとても素晴らしいと話題に。

ありがとうダスティ。
紹介と温かいお言葉に感謝します。BBWAA, thank you for hosting such a great event, and making us feel welcome. To all the writers who voted for me, thank you.

私に投票してくださった皆様、本当にありがとうございます。This MVP award is very prestigious and winning this award means a glory to me. So, deep appreciation goes out to all of you that voted for me to win this AL MVP award.
このMVP賞は非常に名誉ある賞であり、受賞できたことは私にとって大きな意味があります。
そのため今年のMVP賞で私に投票してくださった皆様に、改めて深く感謝いたします。To my fellow recipients, congratulations to all of you and the years you had. And for some of you up here, the careers you had.

各受賞者を招いた晩さん会
1924年にスタートしたこの晩さん会は全米野球記者協会が選出する各リーグのMVP、サイ・ヤング賞、新人王などの受賞者、同支部が独自に選んだ表彰者が参加する歴史ある会となっています。
大谷翔平選手がスピーチされた今回は第99回目となります。
この晩さん会にはナ・リーグMVPに選ばれたアクーニャJr選手らが参加されていました。
